Constructed Worlds

The five artists in Constructed Worlds create narratives about relationships between people, the built world, and nature.  Taken as a whole, these works invite you into an alternative world to reflect, dream, and wonder. Geometric abstraction, obsessive mark making, structure, modularity, and scale are some of the stylistic devises employed to explore the passage of time, unity, and to evoke memories, yearnings, and a sense of place. The seven artists in Holding Space explore physical, social, and spiritual connections to a world in flux.  Innovative poetic and sensory works consider how we humans coexist with nature, while bringing into focus a sense of awe, and reverence tinged with angst, fear, and hope; these artists construct compelling statements regarding where we find ourselves at this moment.

Artworks ranging from meticulous Burmese beadwork tapestries to high-tech3-D printed sculpture, grapple with ideas about stewardship, conservation, history, and identity, and the future of the world as we know it.

ECOCA is proud to work with Perspectives Gallery, as an off-site satellite gallery curated by Debbie Hesse.

Exhibitions are on view to the public at 200 Leeder Hill Drive, Hamden, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4–7 pm, and Saturdays, 1–4 pm. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
