Normally, a new year signals the collaborative efforts of the Ely Center of Contemporary Art and Yale-China Arts Fellows to bring the art, spirit, and culture of Hong Kong to New Haven. In this unprecedented year, we’ve been unable to physically come together to imagine, exchange, and learn, so we have created a virtual space for discovery, innovation, and community. This virtual exhibit uses community-based documentation to share Lunar New Year stories, create space for intercultural exchange, and stimulate discussion around holiday traditions new and old, familiar and unfamiliar.
