Dear GUEST CURATOR(S),
We are thrilled that you will curate an exhibition with ECOCA. The exhibition will run from DATES. This letter serves as our agreement delineating responsibilities for guest curators and ECOCA. There will be a public opening reception on RECEPTION DATE.
Your exhibition entitled, ___TITLE___ will take place in the downstairs/upstairs galleries 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7. Note that the smaller space- Gallery 2 has a projector installed already. Please see floor plan for dimensions. Foyer not included. EDIT TO MAKE SURE CORRECT FLOOR PLAN IS LINKED

Guest Curators will:
Select artists & artwork for exhibition. As discussed, you will peruse Open Call 2023 submissions for artists to consider and include open call artists along with others you invite.
Provide ECOCA with all participating artists contact info: emails, phone numbers, instagram names
ECOCA will send each participating artist an LOA with the gallery
Provide title and exhibition description to be used for signage, website and press release
Provide artwork information for labels -- title, medium, year, sale price & insurance price with accompanying image of work. Feel free to use the template provided.
Provide artist statement & bio for all participating artists
Provide hi-resolution images of all artworks from all artists
Install & hang the exhibition. Basic supplies are on-site. Please check with staff before any invasive installs. You may not drill into any woodwork. Gallery staff and volunteers will be on hand to assist as needed. We will arrange for volunteers, interns to help with at least one week’s notice.
De-install exhibition and patch walls
Provide a list of special events to accompany exhibition so we may schedule them
ECOCA will:
Provide an exhibition space free of charge for guest-curated exhibition
Hold a public opening reception with light refreshments on date designated
Schedule a date for artist talks (on-site/zoom); or provide a platform to interview the artists
Promote the exhibition through our website, e-blasts, and social media
Schedule and coordinate special events during gallery hours
Create and design an e-card and press release and distribute to our media list
Create and design outdoor kiosk poster, wall signage, exhibition list, and artwork labels
NOTE: please note that we do not arrange or pay for shipping artwork. If you are having an artist send artwork please have them send it to your address as we are not open everyday. We may be able to have works from NYC artists dropped off to a Board Member who lives in NYC who has offered to drive works that will fit in her car.
Important Guidelines:
All artworks will be insured by the Ely Center while on the premises. Please provide insured values for all artworks. ECOCA is not responsible for any insurance claims in excess of $10,000
ECOCA will retain 30% from any sales and the artist will receive the remaining 70%. Should we change this to let guest curators get 10%?

Important Dates:
All above exhibition information & materials are due by a month before the show
