As the year comes to a close, we want to thank you for being part of ECOCA in 2025. This year brought meaningful connections across artists, partners, and neighbors, and we’re grateful for your support in making it possible.

Throughout the year, we worked alongside partners across New Haven to bring contemporary art into conversation with the city:

Hosted our first-ever benefit gala at CitySeed, that brought new energy and new relationships into our orbit and helped us envision ECOCA’s next chapter.
Partnered with local music communities through Weird Music Nights and other experimental programs, bringing sound, performance, and visual art into dialogue.
Collaborated with the New Haven Pride Center on MUSCLE and community programming, including a tie-dye station at the fall New Haven Night Market.
Partnered with Rebekah Fraser’s Trash to Fashion to highlight sustainable creativity as part of our Sustainability for Artists programming.
Continued our support of our Audubon Arts District neighbors by partnering with 63 Audubon’s inaugural exhibition.
Joined NXTHVN and Yale during Spring Open Studios, and Erector Square during New Haven Open Studios in the fall, helping connect audiences with a wide range of local artists.

The Ely Center of Contemporary Art’s mission is to present contemporary art exhibitions and events—challenging, conceptual, and provocative—that are inclusive, diverse and promote dialogue around global and community issues. Our work reaffirms Grace Ely’s testamentary wishes for an art center where artists, arts organizations, and the public assemble, exchange, learn, and engage through exhibitions, performances, and emerging contemporary practice
